I will never turn down a trip home to Utah. Even if its only for 24 hours!
My mama and Vern got married in Spain back in October. We obviously wish we could have gone to Spain for the occasion but we were happy we could celebrate with them in Utah.
The weather was absolutely fabulous. A lot cooler than Tucson, but the crisp air always reminds me of the perfect fall weather.
Saturday we arrived in the early morning. We went to get Evan a haircut and then went to a pigeon show at the Utah State Fair Park... talk about random. They also had a cat show! I would have died to see that, but literally probably would have died of allergies. Bless people to take their cats to cat shows.
Dinner was at Valter's. Where Valter himself greeted us all and prepared the meals. Oh my goodness it was delicious! I am pretty sure food was coming out of my nose by the end. Valter's is located on 2nd West and Broadway. It is an outstanding Italian restaurant!
You can go wrong with Bruschetta
The main course was this prime rib. It was so tender and delicate, it fell right off the bone.
Had to get a pano shot of everyone... not paying attention :)
This gelato was to die for. Chocolate and lemon, weird mixture but I ate them side by side and I definitely felt like a buffalo at this point.
My mom and Vern's wedding cake, lemon poppyseed with fresh raspberries on top. I probably would have eaten the whole thing if the entire ration of Italy's food wasn't already in my stomach.
Biscotti with hot chocolate to dip it in... didn't even get to try this but it looked really good.
This was literally one of the fastest trips EVER, but I always love going to see my cute little Oma, dad and Tante & Uncle.
24 hours flew by so quickly but it was so good being able to go home! We will be in Tucson for Thanksgiving this year, and I will be cooking/burning the turkey!
