OUR HOUSE, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.

Have you ever been so busy you forget to eat? September has flown by, but there is so much to do every day. Evan and I have finally moved into our new house. We are about 91.5% settled, but there are still a lot of things to do.

At the beginning of the month we celebrated one year since we got engaged :) We went to the park for a picnic!

I flew up to SLC to get all the furniture we had in storage.
I had some time to visit family and the ranch to see all the cute animals but I spent most of the time packing stuff up. I didn't realize how much stuff there was. Initially I thought a 20ft Uhaul would be too much, but boy was I wrong. We packed that thing from wall to wall. My mom is the bravest lady I know with a can do attitude. She drove that thing down like a boss with a car attached to the back. Thanks to the huge amounts of rain, the road through Las Vegas was washed away, so we took the back roads through southern Utah. It was a beautiful drive. Road trips with my mom are always so much fun. We never stop talking :) I am so happy I got to spend some quality time with my mama.

Once we arrived, the amazing men in our ward unloaded the jam-packed Uhaul in a record time of 12 minutes. We had so much help and it was the most organized unload I've ever seen in my life!

We've had a lot of work to do in the house- yard work, changing things we don't like... and waiting for internet. 3 weeks without people, 3 weeks with out. I didn't realize how handicapped I would feel without internet.

We took some time and got to know our neighbors. Evan and I made Nutella cupcakes and took them to our neighbors! We have some really nice people around us! I can't complain..

Okay I can complain.... We live in the desert right? yeah the other day we found a scorpion in our living room. GROSS! I sucked the nasty thing up with a vacuum, but I am so paranoid we may find more. Evan sprayed the house and the yard, but I have been checking my sheets before I crawl into bed. I also have been vacuuming the floor everyday! I've ordered some Doterra Cedarwood oil, and as soon as that comes windows, and doors will be coved in it. Plus I will be diffusing it like a boss in our room.

In the mix of all of this, I started working for Spring Mobile, AT&T's authorized retailer. I never thought a job could be so much fun. I attend training in Pheonix where I overloaded with information and then lucky enough to start in the stores on the launch day of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. I still have a lot to learn, but I am having a blast in my position (manager in training). I work with some really awesome, supportive individuals! PLUS, who doesn't love jeans and a t-shirt for work?

We celebrated Evan's 29th Birthday by going to Texas Roadhouse.... Yes I made them sing to him and yes he sat on the saddle...

There we go. There he is, doesn't he look good? The Birthday boy :)

Thats what we've been up to!
I am so excited for the fall season; apple pie, carving pumpkins...I won't be jumping in any leaves, because there may be a tarantula, rattlesnake, or scorpion, but you are welcome to come visit us in Southern Arizona where it's still 90+ degrees and sunny! Winter will be great for all of you that will be getting 6 feet of stow everyday.

Have a great day!

The tales of August

It's been awhile since I've written a quality blog.
August was so much fun! We found a house the beginning of the month and felt really great about it. So, we decided to go for it. YES WE BOUGHT A HOUSE.

Evan's parents came to visit us here in Tucson. It was so fun to have them there to visit.
We visited Tombstone, Arizona and rode an old time stage coach. If you know anything about Tombstone it is an old western town. Yes people still live there, and yes everything is pretty much original there. It's where the famous shoot out took place at the OK Corral with Wyatt Eyurp and Doc Holiday.

We rode bikes around the River Walk and discovered a really popular bat cave. Hundreds of thousands of bats dwell in the nearby overpass bridge. Since it was something we hadn't seen we walked down there multiple evenings to watch them fly out of the bridge as the sun went down.

August is Monsoon season. Intense thunder/lightening and rain storms EVERYDAY. It kept the summer heat manageable. It was really nice actually.

In Phoenix we visited Evans Cousins, and it was my first time ever meeting them. How fun!
We went to Cafe Rio, because we NEVER pass up an opportunity to go there. We ate at Rudy's BBQ. Pretty good if you like southern BBQ, but I felt like I was filled with food for the rest of the week.

It was so much fun having them here.

Now we are preparing to move into our new house, but first things first, my mom and I will be driving a giant UHAUL down from SLC to pick up all of our furniture that is in storage. Me driving a large truck is probably scary.  Evan is on his Internal Medicine rotation that keeps him at the hospital for long hours. Good news though, he is definitely ahead of the game considering his experiences in New York. To add on to the craziness, I should be starting work soon- so my goal is to get all moved in and settled before I start.
My search for a job is coming to an end, you have no idea how great it is to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I've been doing some great DIY projects that have turned out pretty good. I'll post the results soon.
Our house closes tomorrow! We sign, record, get the keys and then we can start moving, decorating and making it ours :)

Thanks for reading.

When Life gets in the way, BUY A HOUSE

It's been a crazy few weeks. In fact it hit us like a giant punch in the face. What do I mean? Well we started to casually look for a house with the intention a buying one soon.... we didn't know that we would fall in love with a house that was PERFECT. We walked in and could resist the spacious living room and kitchen. Best of all its it has a backyard, laundry room, garage, and bathrooms with a double sink. Its the little things that make such a big difference.

Here is a sneak preview.....

I've started several money saving DIY projects. Stay tuned.
